How should you wash linen fabrics?

When washing linen fabrics, you should use a low washing temperature of 30 degrees and a mild detergent. It is important not to wash linen too hot as this can damage the fibres and cause distortion. Avoid spinning the linen and hang it on a clothes horse or line to dry. It is also important not to dry linen in the sun for too long as this can fade the colours.

It is advisable to wash dark and light linen fabrics separately to avoid colour loss. Linen fabrics that are heavily soiled can be brushed gently before washing to remove loose fibres and dirt.

It is important to note that linen is a natural fabric and there can be different types of linen that can be processed differently. It is advisable to do a wash test before processing to understand the material.
